Uruguay has a good economical state in recent years. This has been a welcome change since a significant financial crisis period for the country between 199 and around 2002. This has been related to the ecenomic problems experienced in Argentina. Uruguay has apparently bounced back from this slump in its productions, however. Agriculture now makes up a tenth of the overall GDP of Uruguay, with sheep farming and the meat industry taking up over half of the land. This increases further when cattle breeding is taken into consideration. There is also a heavy farming industry within the country. This is usually made up of a large number of smaller farmers as opposed to larger commercial companies. Uruguay is made up of nineteen separate areas, known as departments. These areas within Uruguay are run by separately elected officials that liase together for overall policy of Uruguay.
