Uganda

The national anthem is “Oh Uganda, land of beauty”. The name Uganda comes from the older Buganda kingdom. This kingdom covered a large part of the southern area of Uganda, this includes the capital city of Kampala. Ugandans speak a mixture of Swahili and English depending on the area within the country. Ugandans can trade their roots back to over two thousand years ago, when the native people were hunter gatherers. Uganda has been independent from the UK since 1962.
